ABOUT OUR NEW MAGNET SCHOOLS
The Clara Brown Entrepreneurial Academy
The Clara Brown Entrepreneurial Academy is a NEW K-8 magnet school serving students throughout Aurora Public Schools and the metropolitan area. The school will focus on promoting an entrepreneurial mindset through project-based learning, opportunities to innovate, developing strong emotional intelligence and resilience, and provide opportunities to engage with local and national entrepreneurs and community partners.
The school will open in August 2022 for the following grade levels:
- Kindergarten through 3rd grade
The school will add a grade level each year, ultimately serving students in grades K-8.

The Charles Burrell Visual and Performing Arts Campus
The Charles Burrell Visual & Performing Arts Campus is a NEW K-12 magnet school pathway serving students in grades K-12 throughout Aurora Public Schools and the metropolitan area. The campus will focus on arts-related disciplines including dance, music, theater, digital and visual arts.
The campus will open in August 2022 for the following grade levels:
- Kindergarten through 3rd grade
- 6th grade
- 9th grade
The campus will add a grade level each year, ultimately serving students in grades K-12.

Did You Know? Magnet Schools in APS
- A magnet school has a special academic focus or program where students can engage in real-world experiences.
- Magnet schools do not typically serve students from one area, but rather draw students like magnets from many different boundaries.
- Magnet schools are ideal for students with interest in a particular area of study or way of learning. They create dynamic settings with an academic focus that fosters life skills.
- APS already has a couple magnet schools including Aurora Quest K-8 (Gifted & Talented) and William Smith High School (Expeditionary Learning).
