Aurora Public Schools
Students at various elementary and K-8 schools in the Aurora Public Schools are getting the chance to learn with the Giant Map of Colorado. The map is on loan to APS free of charge courtesy of the Colorado Geographic Alliance (COGA).
The map measures 14 feet by 21 feet and was created by National Geographic. It is designed to encourage geographic and spatial learning through physical movement. Students learn about the history, geography and environment of Colorado through lesson plans, games and other hands-on activities.
While the map is in APS, it will visit Arkansas Elementary, Sable Elementary, Wheeling Elementary, Boston P-8, Paris Elementary, Vaughn Elementary, Murphy Creek K-8, Vassar Elementary and Dalton Elementary.
For more information, visit COGA's website: http://www.uccs.edu/coga/colorado_giant_map.html. APS would like to thank COGA for providing students with this unique opportunity!
