
The Hinkley Green Echoes earned the top award for high schools in the spring 2014 energy challenge.
Ten APS schools earned more than $29,000 in cash awards for reducing energy use in the district’s spring 2015 Compete to Reduce Energy Challenge.
The top-performing schools and clubs in the high school, middle school and elementary school categories are:
- Hinkley High School Green Echoes - $10,575 (Pictured right)
- Aurora West College Preparatory Academy Choices Club - $8,550
- Fulton Academy of Excellence ELD Green Team - $3,568
The following school participants and environmental clubs also received awards for reducing energy:
- Aurora Quest K-8 Green Team - $465
- Dartmouth Elementary Student Council - $309
- Elkhart Elementary Green Leaf Club - $1,736
- Fletcher Community School Energy & Environment Club - $374
- Vassar Elementary Student Council - $417
- Virginia Court Elementary Student Council - $1,319
- Rangeview High School Awesome Recycling Raiders - $1,730
